Gary and Amy Munsey Brentwood, California July 24, 2009 We highly recommend Big Al’s Specialty Movers to anyone for their moving needs. We needed to sell our 4000 sq. ft. Portland home in a time when the real estate market was in decline, and relocate to a town 700 miles away. Homes in the price range we were selling in were spending an average of 6 months on the market before selling at drastically reduced prices. To avoid this, we devised an aggressive plan to have our home pre-inspected, personal and unnecessary household items stored, and to stage it to sell quickly. Big Al’s played a critical role in the success of our plan. We have a very special Steinway Grand Piano and called local piano stores in town to ask them to recommend a mover who would take good care our piano. Every single place we called recommended the same company, Big Al’s Specialty Movers. We called Big Al’s and Al arrived the next business day to look at our piano and give us a quote. We told him we needed to find a mover for the rest of our household and asked him if he could recommend a company. Al told us Big Al’s could move everything for us! We were delighted! While staging our home for sale, we decided to store over half our household to showcase our home’s size and architecture. Originally, we planned to move our things to storage ourselves. But it quickly became clear that was a job too large for us to do ourselves. We called Nancy at Big Al’s and she sent a crew right over to help! Ben and the crew cleared out everything we needed to store and took it to our storage unit in a single day. Our home sold in 10 days, for over our asking-price, with multiple offers! On moving day, Ben and the crew arrived on time, and worked while we began the long drive to our new destination. When Ben and the crew arrived in their trucks to deliver our things to our new home, they were right on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and were extremely professional. Al, Nancy, Ben and the rest of the crew made a stressful time so much easier for us. We are eternally grateful to them for their excellent service and for the consideration they gave to our things. On July 21, we were treated to a move by Ben, Lale, and Jr. I say "treated," because we have never been the recipients of more kindness, courtesy, respect, and care than with these three fine movers. Each one of these three men went out of their way to show us great friendliness and consideration. Your men took great care of our furniture, and neither of the two homes it came out of and went into were damaged. All of your men were very conscientious and considerate workers. Dear Al's Movers of unusual items: Thanks for the great job of cheerfully completing a formidable task! If anyone wants to move a pipe organ, I heartily recommend your people do the work.When it was discovered that the console couldn't be squeezed or maneuvered in any way, through my front door, we were all of us trying to decide the best solution. Finally it was agreed that three more men would be called (I live thirty miles north of Portland) and the organ would be carried in through the lower patio door which could be lifted out. When help arrived (we had to wait an hour because of travel time) then the entire crew inched that console up a winding staircase to the upper floor. I was thoroughly impressed! There was not a scratch on my custom built curved stair railing and not a rip or a tear in the rug. There was absolutely no damage to anything! It was amazing the way they worked together with that very heavy, organ console. And after all that work, the additional charges were graciously reasonable. I could hardly believe it! The rest of the pipe organ, pipes and air chest, were safely delivered through the front door. The entire unit stands 118 inches tall and is a great witness to the capability of Big Al's Movers. They moved our 5'8" grand down a steep flight of stairs with 2 tight turns, and then down our long, steep driveway without a scratch! This furniture was a wedding present for our son and his bride. An appreciable amount of work went into making theses pieces. Needless to say, having them shipped from Vancouver WA to Sacramento, Ca. was a concern to me. My wife found your company in the phone book and the person she contacted was extremely helpful and sold my wife on shipping this furniture by Big Al. In addition, the idea that the shipment would not be stored in some warehouse till shipping also appealed to my wife. Big Al and his crew just completed a very difficult job for me and the results were great. The job involved using a crane to move two organ consoles through a roof window (one departing and a new one coming in). I wanted to take a moment to write you and say how wonderful it was having Jack and his crew (Ivan and Jacob) move my piano this morning. Making the decision to part with my antique upright piano was difficult, but finding it a home with Martha at Immortal Piano made my decision much easier to accept. I had one final concern - the move! The piano is immense with a grand soundboard in the old upright so I knew it would not be an easy thing to move, especially getting it out of the house over my hardwood floors.
When your team arrived, Jack introduced himself and I instantly told him my concern about the floors but also did not want to see any harm come to the piano. Jack asked the other guys to not use the regular piano mover (with hard wheels), but to get the "big soft wheels" instead.
Much to my pleasure, they moved the piano out easily (at least it seemed) with absolutely no damage to the piano or to my floors. All three of the gentlemen were professional, pleasant, and quick in their work -- probably in and out of my house within 15 minutes.
I have had such bad experiences with movers in the past that I had to write and let you know what a terrific crew you have, especially Jack. My deepest thanks for making a stressful situation turn out to be a joy.

The previous move involved getting the piano from the truck to my house while the piano was still in its crate.... We just had a piano from The Immortal Piano delivered by Herman and Ivan. They were outstanding in their service and should be commended. They called to let me know what time to expect them. They arrived promptly and made sure that the truck did not interfere with some low wires I have over my driveway. They were picking up a very heavy grand piano to make room for the new one, and they removed it quickly and professionally. The new piano was also brought in and put in place quickly, but with the obvious care to make were nothing happened to it. When I called to schedule the delivery, the woman initially said the schedule was full and I could not get the piano until after the weekend. Al's moving crews are not only incredibly strong, they're incredibly careful. We knew this already from three previous piano moves they did for us, but getting this bathtub upstairs was another order of challenge. They handled the huge, heavy, unwieldy tub as carefully as crystal, and never touched the walls, floor, or paint. They're amazing!

While I can't say "moving is great: I will say the move you and your crew facilitated for me on Saturday, Jun 9th was an un-terrible as a move can be. The men arrived earlier than expected (always a good sign) and went right to work. They were courteous, considerate and displayed great humor. Most importantly, Al, I'd like for you to commend them for what I considered going beyond the call of duty. When faced with the driveway at my new home, realizing they couldn't get the truck up the drive, they were going to carry all the items up the long, steep, twisting driveway. Fortunately, they were able to use my boyfriend's truck and load things from the truck into his pickup. I hope it made it easier for them. Never once did I hear anyone complain nor say, "this can't be done." Each man just continued working until the job was done. Again Al, to you and your crew, my heartfelt thanks. As I told you on the phone today, I want to recognize superior customer service on the part of your company, and ask that this be passed on to your brother, Herman, and the other gentleman who assisted him with my move. On Friday, May 31st , they met me in the morning at my daughter's condominium in Lake Oswego to move her piano out of that residence and to my home in Tigard. Long story I won't go into, but we were unable to enter because the locks had been change without our knowledge. This piano belonged to my father (whose name was also Al), and was given to my daughter (Teresa), per his wishes, after he died. It is something she treasures! When we were unable to get into the residence to get the piano, I called Teresa at work in Des Moines (where she moved a year ago) and asked her to see if she could call somebody that would let us in. neither she or I could find anyone quickly, much less anyone that would even return a call, so I had to let Herman go on with his day. I was distraught, as was my daughter at a long distance away and feeling helpless. We could picture a huge hassle getting the piano, and maybe even fight the new owner who might claim it as his own. She was in tears and I was ready to fight City Hall!! Herman could see how upset we were over this situation and he offered to come back later in the day if we were somehow able to gain entrance. Miracle of miracles, the new owner called me a couple hours later, as I'd left a note with my telephone number on the piano, and after another little confrontations that I won't go into, agreed to let us in that afternoon. I immediately called Herman and, in Friday rush hour traffic, Herman managed to make it back to Teresa's condo in time to meet me and move the piano out! As silly as this sounds, I was in total disbelief that we really pulled this off in a matter of just 6 hours from start to finish. It would NOT have happened with any other moving company, of that I'm sure. Who would be willing (on a Friday, no less!) to go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make a SECOND trip to move someone's piano?? This day in age, no one....except for Herman I believe he understood the value to us and that's why he did what he did. Bless his heart. So, thank you from someone who is fairly cynical about the level of customer service people get today. A company like yours should be recognized for truly "going the extra mile" for their customers. I would be happy to be a testimonial for your company, as my daughter would also ! Thank you a million time!

The overall experience I have had with your company while moving from Portland to Los Angeles in June 2007 has been outstanding. The main reason is that Jack & Ivan, the drivers and movers, were detailed-minded, conscientious, and brilliant with their planning. For instance, they found themselves having to plan when and how to get certain pieces of furniture onto the loading dock and through a long series of halls to my new unit in Los Angeles, due to a loading dock overflow of business. In addition, they were kind and not in a rush, willing to take the time it took to do the job correctly. Consequently, they were helping with last-minute jobs, such as putting a difficult bed together, until they could do what they could do, at about 8 p.m. that day they moved my things into not only my 3rd floor unit in L.A. but also to my daughter's home in Santa Clarita. The cell phone and may calls made communication work well, in addition, and the contracted schedule was met. I have moved numerous times around the country with professional moving companies, from the East coast to the West coast and in between, during the last 30 years and I must say to you that this was by far the most pleasant move I've experienced.
